A sort of homecoming

When we left Switzerland, there was snow on the ground (despite an amazingly mild winter), so we were thrilled to arrive in 75 degree sunny weather. For the next week or so the highs ranged from 65-80 degrees...brilliant. But since then we've had reminders of how much more volatile the weather is here. After a night of intense thunderstorms earlier this week (not so common in Basel but par for the course here), the temperatures have plummeted to the point that they're actually forecasting light snow tonight.
